Acrylic or Glass

Or is it mirroring you are after?

The communiy has spoken and quite loudly. The question was glass or acrylic for backglass reproductions. The answer, did anyone say mirroring?

Acrylic is the more modern expensive option, durable, lighter, doesn't break, looks like glass and printers prefer it and even some pinball enthisiiast prefer it as well.

Notice I said some. There is a paticularly loud group of folks that will gather the wagons and circle anyone talking plastic near their favorite machines. This group of enthusiast are known as "purist."

They are set in their ways and preferences and make no mistake the preference is glass. They are the old school guys and a few gals that want glass because they want the machine to be as authentic as it must always remain. You cannot blame them and you cannot not convert them so the only option is to respect them and get them what they want!

More then the preference of glass is an absublute need for real quality mirroring. There are some up and coming artist that are worth taking notice of. Eduardo is one of them. He has some backglasses that are stunning and the glossy finsih is really something speical as well.

There are some new innovative technologies making its way to the backglass industry as well and I would expect that while noboy is takling about it publicly, I know some companies are gearing up for some new backglass options that could braoden what is available today.
